Sarah forrest, MS, MLA (Ms. Sarah)

My enthusiasm for the Montessori method is inspired by my graduate studies, my experiences abroad, my passion for lifelong learning, and my love of teaching. I have worked with students in a variety of settings for nearly 30 years. I have taught adults, college students, highschoolers, elementary students, and preschoolers. I have been a certified Montessori guide for 10 years and opened my first Montessori preschool in 2016. Della Casa Montessori is an extension of my first program and has been several years in the making. I am excited to share the unique preschool environment I have created for your child!   

I earned my bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder, with a major in psychology, a minor in biology, and in emphasis in neuropsychology. I completed a Master of Liberal Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia with an emphasis in culture and psychology and a graduate certificate in African Studies. I hold a second master's degree in general psychology from Walden University. I completed my Montessori teacher training at Montessori Casa International in Denver, CO, under the direction of Dr. Punum Bhatia. I hold an International Certificate in Montessori Pedagogy. I completed 620 hours of Montessori internship in Colorado Springs at Sidewalk's End Montessori School. 

I was born in Colorado Springs and have lived in Colorado for most of my life. My husband and I met when we were college students in Boulder. His Air Force career took us to Florida, Japan, and back to Colorado. We have enjoyed raising our two daughters in Colorado Springs near our family and friends. I am passionate about international travel and have traveled to every continent but Antacrtica. Most recently, I traveled to the rain forest of Costa Rica with my daughters. I enjoy spending my free time hiking with my dog, doing yoga and Pilates, skiing, and grabbing coffee with friends. In addition to directing Della Casa Montessori, I operate a small business, Pikes Peak Winter Symposium, which hosts an annual conference for mental health care professionals nationwide. I am passionate about family, lifelong learning, and building community.
